Following our conversation this morning, here are a few pictures. I thought I had more, and would happily take more, but these give a good impression of ‘before’ (the hideous 1950s fireplace), ‘during’ (not the best picture, a bit of camera shake, but maybe you don’t have many photos of work in progress, and ‘after’. They show that potential 3-foot-square hole, and the possibility of opening up the chimney – we are so very glad we did! The ‘during’ picture also shows how surprisingly little mess there was during the job. I don’t recall doing any special clean-up for the photo. Why would I?”
